Committees and Commissions

Commission on Education and CME 
The responsibilities of this commission are to assist IAFP members by providing the fullest possible access to, and information about continuing medical education programs of quality and relevance. The commission is responsible for exploring future directions and innovative concepts in CME and making recommendations regarding the future of IAFP CME programming. The commission will propose policies to the IAFP Board of Directors in matters of continuing medical education for submission to the AAFP. The commission is also responsible for planning content and inviting speakers for all IAFP CME events.

Commission on Health Care Services 
The Commission on Health Care Services assists the IAFP membership and advises the IAFP board on the issues that family physicians face in their practice including medical home, quality improvement, professional relationships, practice management, insurance contracting, Medicaid, hospital privileging, and state regulations.  The Commission analyzes new and existing developments in health care and provides the family physician perspective on such programs.

Commission on Membership and Communication
The Commission on Membership & Communication identifies activities that enhance the value of IAFP membership and communicate the mission of IAFP.

Commission on Legislation and Governmental Affairs 
The Commission on Legislation and Governmental Affairs is tasked with directing the advocacy efforts of the IAFP, with oversight by the IAFP Board. Yearly the commission reviews all health related legislation introduced at the Indiana General Assembly to determine the IAFP official position and actions the IAFP should take on each bill. When appropriate the IAFP commission makes recommendations to the Board on seeking specific legislation.

Committee on Bylaws 
The functions of this committee are:
(1) To determine that the IAFP Bylaws are consistent with those of the AAFP and 
(2) To submit appropriate revisions to the IAFP Congress of Delegates for its approval.
