Indiana Non-IUSM Sources of Aid Specific to Primary Care
Fayette Memorial Hospital Financial Support for Medical Students and Residents in Primary Care
Offers $10,000 a year in financial aid for each year of medical school and $20,000 a year for each year of residency for students interested in primary care fields. In return the physician is expected to establish a fulltime practice in Fayette County and obtain privileges at Fayette Memorial Hospital. IUSM Scholarships Specific to Primary Care
Indiana Primary Care Scholarship Program
Provides a scholarship covering full tuition and fees for IUSM. For every year of receiving this award the student must practice as a primary care physician in an underserved area in Indiana. A student may apply for the award at any time during their schooling at IUSM.
OneAmerica/Bowen Scholarship for the Otis R. Bowen, MD Center
Students receive $4,350 for each of the four years of medical school and has the opporutunity to conduct research and work closely with a Department of Family Medicine Faculty member.
Dr. Ralph E. Barnett Scholarship
Gifts support scholarships to deserving medical students who intend to engage in primary care.
Class of 1957 Scholarship
Scholarship is given preferably to students who intent to practice primary care
Dr. Harold A. Cohen Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to seniors who are interested in primary care medicine in an Indiana rural area.
Earl J. Culver-Miller Medical Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to an Indiana resident who has demonstrated a commitment to becoming a family physician in the state of Indiana
Lake County Medical Center Development Agency
Scholarships are provided to eligible Lake County residents assigned to the IUSM-Northwest Campus who are aspiring primary care physicians with the expectation that they may practice in Lake County, IN.
Faye Magneson Scholarship
Scholarships are provided to medical students enrolled at IUSM South Bend who are graduates of high schools in St. Joseph County. Preference is given to students interested in pursuing primary care.
Nick J. Rutigliano Family Scholarship
This scholarship is given to a fourth year medical student with demonstrated financial need and a dedication to practicing Family Medicine.

Federal Sources of Aid:
Bureau of Health Professions Primary Care Loans
The Federal Department of Health and Human Services provides low interest loans to full time financially needy students to pursue their medical degree. National Health Service Corps Loan Repayment
