2022 IAFP FALL CONFERENCE RECORDINGS NOW AVAILABLE

The IAFP held its 2022 Virtual Fall Conference on Friday, November 11 and Saturday, November 12, 2022. The meeting focused on addiction medicine and vestibular medicine (dealing with the symptoms of dizziness and vertigo). Members who were not able to attend may be interested in viewing recordings of the CME presentations that took place.
Please note: AAFP CME credit is not available for these recordings but the addiction medicine topics count towards the Indiana Opioid CME mandate.

Faculty Information
Speakers are faculty members of Community Health Network’s Addiction Medicine Fellowship in Indianapolis

  • Gretchen Johnson, DO
    Dr. Johnson attended Medical School at Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Indianapolis. She completed her Residency at Community Hospital East Family Medicine Residency, Indianapolis. She completed an Addiction Medicine Fellowship at Community Health Network where she now serves as a faculty member.

  • Charles Platz, MD
    Dr. Platz serves as the medical director for controlled substance resources for Community Health Network in Central Indiana. He attended Medical School at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine, Iowa City, IA. He completed his Family medicine Residency at Community Health Network, Indianapolis, IN. He completed a Surgery Internship at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center, Chicago, IL. As an active family physician, Dr. Platz has a special interest in primary care chronic pain management as well as primary care management of opioid addiction with the use of buprenorphine.

  • Emily Zarse, MD
    Emily Zarse, MD, is the Program Director of the Addiction Medicine Fellowship program at Community Health Network in Indianapolis. She attended Medical School at Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, IN. She completed a Psychiatry Residency at Indiana University School of Medicine. She completed an Addiction psychiatry Fellowship at Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, IN. After her fellowship, Dr. Zarse was the area chief of addiction services for a community mental health center in Indianapolis before coming to Community Health Network in 2019.

Faculty information:

  • Scott Sanders, MD
    Dr. Sanders is a board certified neurologist with fellowship training in neuro-ophthalmology. His expertise lies in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with dizziness, vertigo, and imbalance. Dr. Sanders obtained an undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering from Purdue University. He then entered the combined degree (MD, PhD) program at Indiana University, majoring in medical neurobiology. He spent one year at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis as an intern followed by three years as a neurology resident and one year as a neuroophthalmology fellow at Indiana University Medical Center. He has been in private practice since July of 2000. He is now a Clinical Assistant Professor of Neurology, Indiana University School of Medicine.
