Applications Sought For Foundations Of Clinical Practice (FCP) Clinical Preceptors
As part of the new IUSM curriculum launching this fall, applications are currently being sought for the longitudinal clinical preceptors associated with the Foundations of Clinical Practice (FCP) – Year One course. Foundations of Clinical Practice (FCP) Year One, taught during the first year of medical school, is an integrated series of lectures, small-group discussions, along with a clinical component that is overseen by the longitudinal clinical preceptors.
Students will make 7 clinical visits during the academic year. This equates to approximately one (1) visit every four weeks. Each visit is approximately 3 hours in length. The visits during the first year will be related developing their history and physical exam skills, practicing communication skills, identifying the healthcare team members, and identifying healthcare disparities in practice.
