Improving Adolescent & Young Adult Depression Screening in Indiana Practices

IU School of Medicine, Dept. of Pediatrics is excited to offer practices in our state the opportunity to take part in a national adolescent and young adult depression screening initiative. This multi-state quality improvement (QI) research project, which is supported by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), is a collaboration between the National Improvement Partnership Network (NIPN) and the Adolescent & Young Health National Resource Center and is led by our colleagues at the Vermont Child Health Improvement Program (VCHIP). Indiana is one of 5 states enrolled and engaged in this project to improve adolescent and young adult depression screening in primary care settings.

Benefits of project participation (scheduled to commence February 2020 and conclude October 2020):

  • Earn 20 ABFM Performance Improvement Certification Points and 20 AAFP Performance Improvement CME Credits - free of charge! (all credits for the learning collaborative will be assigned before the end of 2020)
  • Use quality improvement methods to improve your practice’s systems of screening and referral
  • Expert Physician Guided Education
  • Receive individualized coaching support
